Driven by a commitment to telling stories that challenge stereotypes and uncover deeper truths, my work celebrates the richness and resilience of the human spirit. I am deeply curious and fascinated by the extraordinary within the ordinary, and seek to uncover the profound truths and hidden narratives. My films endeavor to blend poignancy with inspiration and a touch of humor, creating a multi-dimensional viewing experience that resonates on both an emotional and intellectual level.
The CT High Fives film was born out of my passion for uncovering niche worlds hidden in plain sight. Making my film, “The Blessings of Aging”, a five-minute short documentary for the Hebrew Home at Riverdale, was a transformative experience for me. It challenged my own preconceived notions about aging; illuminating the vibrant, humorous, and liberating aspects of growing old. The film depicted empowered and joyful seniors and emotionally resonated in such a big way with audiences. That was the first spark in reshaping my understanding of aging. It inspired me to open my mind and delve deeper into the subject.
My hope is that the CT High Fives will both entertain and also encourage a reevaluation of age-related prejudices.
